Fair Day at DRSEF
Only bring boards, binders, laptops/tablets, and ISEF paperwork to the exhibit hall. Do not bring demonstration items to the Fair day.
We will be in person at the Automobile Building at Fair Park; all projects require a physical display board. All projects at DRSEF must follow the Display & Safety rules set by the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Please remember that roughly 1,200 students will be arriving at 7:30am – give yourself extra time for traffic!
As a reminder, only your display board, abstract, and lab notebooks/research binder may be brought in with you on Fair day. No prototypes or additional supplies are allowed. However, if you would like to show a prototype in action, you may have a video on a personal device (battery operated). Please note that there is no wifi and no power to charge a device in the building.
Projects will be left during judging and can be picked up once the building reopens at 5:30pm. If someone else will be picking up a student project, please make sure they have the student removal pass included in the student packet.
Cash Awards and Special Awards
Beal Bank offers cash prizes for 1st to 3rd place in each category, with additional prizes for larger categories. Junior Division winners receive up to $200; Senior Division winners receive up to $400. Honorable Mentions are also awarded during Category judging.
Additional Special Awards are available for students, including scholarships, cash awards, internships, and other opportunities.
Payment
Project fees are paid as part of the payment milestone on STEM Wizard.
Option 1 – Self Pay
Most students will use the option to self-pay for your project. Use the links in STEM Wizard to launch into PayPal to complete your payment.
Payments are NON-REFUNDABLE for any reason.
Option 2 – School Pay
Some districts pay for their students to participate in DRSEF. If your district is paying your entry fee, select the correct radio button in STEM Wizard for your school district. If your school / district is not listed on a radio button, you MUST use option 1 for self-pay.
* Please note… if you are in a district that pays for students and you opt to self-pay, you will NOT be refunded for your self-payment.
** Incorrectly choosing Option 2 (i.e. you select a school-pay option and you are not part of that school), you will be charged an additional fee before you can compete
